Hats off to ya

Hats are way underrated in my book. I think everyone should own at least one, if not more. And with so many styles out there to choose from, I don't see why not. Here's some of my favs. From top to bottom: ASOS floppy hat, $35.86, J.Crew fedora, $39.50, Forever 21 hat, $12.80, Kohl's hat, $24.00

Block it Out

With spring here, you might be dashing to the nearest floral or pastel dress you find. But these aren't the only trends spring fashion has to offer. Enter color blocking. The look all urbanites should try at least once. It's fresh and bold and easy to put together, even for those who would like to be a little more under the radar. If bright orange and fuschia clashing together isn't quite your look, try mixing beige with black and white. Neutral tones have a way of playing down the striking effect of color blocking. There's such a varity of options to choose from as well. Try mixing tan dress pants with a bright lemon-lime top or a banded dress with three loud colors. Forget coffee. These looks have enough pop to jolt anyone awake.

Pink Love

Though hot pink has never been one of my favorite colors, it definitely has made it's way into my heart this spring. This Mui Mui bag is too cute for words.

And it goes so well with this Versace scarf. So bright and cheery!

Warm Weather Friendly

With the summer already here in Houston, I'm already planning my outfits to have as little material as possible. That's why I love this bustier from Mara Hoffman. Now I just can't forget the sunscreen!

Street Style Look of the Day

Here's my fav street style pic for today. Love the coat, love the accessories, love it all. Picture taken in Paris by Courtney D'Alesio.

Orange you glad...?

I'm loving Spring's color palette! With summer a couple of months away and with the air still a bit chilly, now is the perfect time to use your winter earth tones and throw in a pop of bright color. My favorite is definitely neon orange or yellow with nude. The look is so polished while keeping it fun and playful. Here are some SS11 runway looks from Tory Burch, Rebecca Minkoff, and Vena Cava.

Channeling Studio 54

The decadent and glamourous 70's styles are coming back. Remember the days of disco? Beautiful women dancing the night away to some upbeat song. I don't, considering I wasn't even born yet. Still, I picture sequins and shiny, flowing material that reflected the pulsing lights of the disco ball and platform shoes that made you 5 inches taller. Lucky for us, this era is back and better than ever. No longer are the clothes made of stiff or thick polyester. Now we have Chloe, Marc Jacobs, and Fendi making the look even more stylish than before. And the look isn't that hard to pull off. There are some great jumpsuits that you can wear out for the day or dress up for the night. Just remember to keep the hair natural and soft and jazz your outfit up with either some gold bangles or ethnic inspired pieces. But most importantly, accessorize with confidence. Sounds cheezy but I swear by it, as did the women of the "Me Decade".
